DRIVING AND TRANSPORT
In
Cyprus you drive on the left. A car is easily the best way to get
around the Island, but public transport is widely available, and
services are cheap frequent and efficient.
Cyprus
law states that seat belts must be worn (front and rear), drinking
and driving is not allowed and helmets must be worn when riding
motorcycles.
The
max speed, unless otherwise stated is 100kph on motorways and 80kph
on main roads. In built up areas the limit is 50kph. Often there
will be a minimum speed sign as well.
The
minimum age for driving in Cyprus is 18, you can drive in Cyprus on
your UK licence but you are required by law to obtain a Cypriot
licence if you stay for more than 6 months.
