Paphos and the West

A year round resort combining the old and the new through its rich historical sites and modern hotels, bars and night clubs. There are a number of excavated Roman Villas, which attract a large number of tourists throughout the year. New housing developments in and around Paphos cater for its growing popularity. To the northwest are the towns of Polis and Latchi. They are smaller resorts which are becoming more developed, but still retain much of their original character.

According to legend, Aphrodite the Greek goddess of beauty and love, was not born, she emerged fully grown and beautiful from the surf near Paphos. Once the capital of Cyprus, this colourful resort, holds a market in the old town, where historical sites mingle with the modern part of town known as Kato Paphos. The Troodos Mountains rising to over 1,400 metres above sea level, the highest point in Cyprus, provide spectacular scenery. The most popular beach is in the developing area of Coral Beach, where there are numerous coves and sandy bays.

Coral Bay

Within easy reach of the shops and restaurants of Paphos, Coral Bay is a stunning stretch of coast. Its location and road links make it an ideal centre for both residents and those here just on holiday. The silver and gold coloured sandy beaches of the area are washed by the clear blue waters of the eastern Mediterranean. There are copious bars and boutiques.

Latchi

In centuries past Latchi was one of the Islands ancient merchant villages, and home to a tight knit community that fished the beautiful Chrysoschou bay. The village retains this old world serenity, and with its clear waters and fine beaches, remains the perfect retreat. Behind the village are the peaks of Akamas national park.

Mandria Village

Totally unspoilt, and only a few hundred metres to the beach, 5 minutes drive to Paphos Airport and 10 minutes drive to the newest golf course on the Island, Secret Valley.

Polis

Overlooks Chrysochou Bay and was one of the ancient city kingdoms of Cyprus. Polis with its excellent climate and beautiful beach, is now developing into a popular resort.

Peyia

A short drive from Coral Bay and situated in the foothills of Paphos, it is still largely unspoilt with lively local tavernas, that will cost you a fraction of the price that you would pay in the main tourist areas.

Larnaca and the South East

The area around Larnaca is flat. Larnaca itself boasts a beautiful Marina and Harbour and is home to an International Airport.

Larnaca has around 25km of beaches and the seafront promenade has been considerably improved and is now a very pleasant tree lined sea front filled with cafes and Tavernas. Larnaca Bay is a beautiful and almost perfect south facing semi circle of golden sands. This area is well known for water sports and is popular with expatriates, looking for a better lifestyle. Larnaca is proud of its 6,000 years of history and culture, and there are many museums and points of interest in the town.

Ayia Napa

Transformed from a sleepy fishing village, this most popular and lively resort has something for everyone (not just the young and lively) Now a thriving, resort town . Ayia Napa owes everything to the beauty of its beaches. The Water sports hotels and clubs, still co-exist with the fishing harbour where the catch comes in daily and is served in the friendly café's and Tavernas at the waters edge. In Ayia Thekla the ancient church dates back to the middle-ages.

Ayia Triada

This is a quiet area around 3 km from Protaras centre. It has a gorgeous sandy bay a tiny chapel and a fishing harbour.

Protaras

A modern purpose built resort, boasting some of the finest beaches in Cyprus. Kapparis is a beach resort with many water sport activities. With its very own mixture of Cypriot old world charm and the new trendy feel of designer shops selling clothes, Leather goods and fine jewellery.

Paralimni

The main shopping town again offers the combination of the old village, with the convenience of a modern town. There are beautiful churches, cosmopolitan shops, café's and Tavernas centred all round the main square.

Vrysoulles`

A lush Inland Village full of orange groves and olive trees, which boasts supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and schools.

Limassol

The second largest town in Cyprus, Limassol is very popular with tourists, boasts a popular shopping area in the old town and the seafront stretches for 8 miles along to Amanthus. Behind the hotels are the main residential areas.

There are many amenities nearby such as gardens, theatres, cinemas, and night-life. There are many historical attractions such as Kolossi Castle, and the ancient roman site of Kourion.

A lively all year round resort with dark sand and shingle beaches, backed by tavernas and restaurants. Richard the Lionheart is said to have married in the castle at Limassol.
