The Jalon Valley occupies a circular area with a radius of approximately 15km centred on the typivally Spanish village of Parcent. The popular name Jalon Valley derives its title from a village of the same name close to Parcent. The right hand side of the circle is bordered by the national road N332 and the Auto Vista E15, which skirt the coastal towns of Denia, Javea, Moraira and Calpe. On the left hand side are ranges of mountains rising to over a thousand metres.
The area contains over 20 local villages, each with its own character and traditions. Names such as Alcalali, Pego, Pedreguer, Sagra, Orba are becoming well known among those enjoying the tranquillity and beauty of this valley, with its vast acres of citrus trees, almond groves and above all the outstanding views afforded to the fortunate occupiers of villas situated on the many hillsides and mountain foothills.
With a maximum 30 minutes drive by road to the nearest large town, access to shops, banks and the beaches is no ordeal on these quiet country roads. But for everyday food shopping, bars and restaurants the local villages can supply all ones needs. A mixture of mainly Spanish folk mix with an ever increasing ex-pat population, so that one can enjoy the full flavour of the Spanish way of life, but still make new friends with people from ones own country if that is ones wish.
